I began my graphic design
career at the age of 18, designing sportswear and logos for Dixon Brothers
Sporting Goods in Pensacola, Florida in 1978. I spent several years
designing t-shirts and sportswear, then moved into the textile design
industry in 1988, working first as a designer for Elberton Mills in
Elberton, Georgia, then The Rug Barn in Abbeville, South Carolina. I
eventually went into the freelance textile design business until the
bottom fell out of the market after NAFTA passed. At that time I moved
into the publishing industry, first with Hometown News of Woodruff, South
Carolina. Since that time I have done layout, paste-up and graphic design
for over 30 newspapers. I have also done freelance website design for
several companies and nonprofit agencies. I have over thirty years of
graphic design experience. I also design and maintain this website. I
am available for freelance work at the rate of $25 per hour. For more
