Donating to the Culture Artist Organization helps us to
continue our mission of promoting sustainable living through
advocacy and education.
With
issues like global warming, overpopulation, Peak Oil, pollution
and depletion of our natural resources looming on the horizon,
it is clear that we cannot continue with a 'business as usual'
approach to life on this planet without major future
consequences.
A large and increasing body of evidence indicates that we’re
having a significant negative impact on the ecosphere. If we
don’t focus on the long-term damage we’re doing to the Earth
now, it may be too late tomorrow. While environmental awareness
is on the rise, there are still many who think that
sustainability isn’t an issue they should be concerned about.
What is needed is a paradigm shift. We can evolve to a more
sustainable way of living. It means switching to resources that
can be replenished or recycled instead of depending on resources
that are being rapidly depleted. It means seeing ourselves as a
part of the life cycle here on Earth instead of as separate from
nature. Our culture will have to grow and adapt to make this
happen. We will need a new culture; one that that is sustainable
without being uncomfortable, spiritual without being dogmatic
and artistic without being exclusive. In short, we need to
become Culture Artists, working within the medium of the culture
itself to create a paradigm shift towards a better world.

By donating to the Culture Artist Organization, you will help
our work in the following areas:
| Cob Building Program |
The Culture Artist
Cobbers offer occasional hands-on cob building workshops
throughout the Southeast. Cob is a natural building
material made of clay, sand and straw. It is similar to
adobe, except that instead of forming the mixture into
bricks, it is stacked freehand. This freeform method
allows for hand-sculpted techniques that are visually
stunning. For more information on cob building, visit
the
Cob: What is It? section
or the
Cob Gallery. |
| Educational Programs |
In furthering our
mission of promoting sustainable living and
self-sufficiency through advocacy and education, we
offer a variety of
educational programs at
various locations throughout the Southeast. Some of
these topics include Natural Building Education,
Sustainable Gardening, Green Transportation, Living in
Community, Deep Ecology and Mindful Ecotherapy. Your
donations will help to support these
educational programs. |
| Forest Moon Ecovillage |
The mission of the
Culture Artist Organization is to create Culture
Artists. Our long-term goal is to create
Forest Moon Ecovillage, a
sustainable community and an educational facility. This
community will not only be a sustainable village; it
will also function as a place for artists to showcase
their talents, a shelter for those who might not
otherwise be able to afford a home, and an example to
show the world what is possible. Your donations will
help us to make
Forest Moon Ecovillage a
reality! |
| Green Homes for the
Homeless |
Our
Green Homes for the Homeless Program
provides green-built homes for those who might not
otherwise be able to afford a home. Our homes are built
with natural materials that are often harvested right
from the site. Since the majority of the
building materials come from the site,
these homes are built very inexpensively, making them
ideal for low-income families. Your donation will help
us to provide homes that are sustainable and affordable! |
Thank you for your donation!
